Getting Started
Follow these steps from account registration to displaying the audio player on your pages.
Overview
PUBVOICE converts web articles into audio content and places an audio player on your website. Register and verify a content source, pull articles via RSS, generate scripts and audio, then install the SDK — the player will appear on matching article pages.
1. Sign Up→2. Verify Domain→3. Register RSS→4. Set Prompt→5. Generate Audio→6. Install SDK→Done
Prerequisites
- Domain ownership of the target content source — you must be able to place a meta tag inside the <head> element
- RSS feed — prepare an RSS 2.0 feed to pull your article list (Atom is also supported)
Step 1
Account Registration & Setup
Enter your domain and billing name during onboarding to register your content source.
- An onboarding wizard will appear on your first visit.
- Enter the content source domain (e.g. example.com).
- Enter the billing name (company or individual) to complete registration.
- After registration, you'll proceed to domain ownership verification via meta tag.
Step 2
Content Source Verification
Place a meta tag inside the <head> of your content source to verify ownership.
- Open "Verification" for the target content source in the dashboard.
- Copy the displayed meta tag and paste it into the <head> of your site's HTML.
- Click "Verify" to validate ownership (up to 5 attempts per hour).
- After verification, we review the content source. Approval typically takes 1–3 business days.
Step 3
Register RSS Feed
Once an RSS feed is registered, articles are automatically fetched and become eligible for audio generation.
- Select a content source in the dashboard and open "RSS Feeds" in the sidebar.
- Enter the RSS 2.0 feed URL and click "Add".
- After registration, the feed is synced approximately every hour and new articles appear in the article list.
- The feed domain must match the registered content source domain.
Step 4
Configure Script Template
Create a prompt pattern for script generation to control the tone of the audio.
- Select a content source and open "Prompt Patterns" in the sidebar.
- Click "Create New" and enter a prompt name and content.
- Write instructions for generating the audio script (e.g. friendly newscaster style).
- Select this prompt when generating a script for an article.
Step 5
Generate Audio
Generate a script from the article list, convert it to audio, and enable delivery to make it playable in the player.
- Select a content source and open "Article Management" in the sidebar.
- For articles you want to audio-enable, select "Start Auto-Generation" and choose a prompt — script and audio will be generated in one step.
- You can also generate the script first with "Generate Script Only", then convert it to audio later with "Generate Audio".
- Once audio generation is complete, turn on "Deliver" to make the article playable on your website.
Step 6
Player Settings & SDK Setup
Get the integration code from player settings and add the script and container to your website.
- Select a content source and open "Player Settings" in the sidebar.
- In Step 1 "SDK Setup", copy the player container <div> and loader script code.
- Place the container where you want the player to appear, and add the script just before </body>.
- Optionally adjust appearance in Step 2 "In-Article Player" and Step 3 "Sticky Player".
Step 7
Verify Operation
Open an article page and confirm that the player appears for audio-generated, delivery-enabled articles.
- The player only appears for articles that are "Audio Complete" and have "Deliver" turned on.
- The article URL must match the URL registered in the dashboard.
- If the player doesn't appear, check the troubleshooting guides (SDK Setup, RSS Settings, Audio Generation).
When the Player Appears
The player is displayed only when all of the following conditions are met: (1) the article has "Audio Complete" status, (2) "Deliver" is enabled for the article, (3) the content source domain is approved, and (4) the page URL matches a registered article URL.
Troubleshooting
- Player not showing — Check that the article appears in the dashboard article list, is audio-complete, and has delivery enabled. Verify that the domain is approved under "Account".
- Audio not generating — Check whether the article was fetched via RSS, whether a script was generated with the prompt, and review the article detail status.
- Duplicate players in SPA — Call the SDK's destroy() on page transitions. See the SDK Integration Guide for details.
